God’s Faithfulness in the Midst of Pain—August 2020

His Mansion

“I had my first drink and drug at thirteen, the summer going into high school,” says Kaeli, one of our current Servant Leaders. Kaeli, like many, was introduced to drugs and alcohol at a young age and has since battled with addiction—wondering where God was in the midst of her struggles. Though her battle with addiction caused her pain, Kaeli now knows that same pain has been woven into a story of God’s faithfulness.

In the fall of 2018, Kaeli arrived at His Mansion terrified of failing again. The care and counseling at His Mansion helped her realize the anger she held at never having a father, at verbally abusive people like her step-father, and at chronic addiction that had taken over her life.

During nearly two years of being at His Mansion—first as a Resident, and now as a Servant Leader—Kaeli has seen the Lord work in her life in powerful ways. She has known God’s faithfulness through some of the worst situations. She’s experienced forgiveness, restoration in her relationships, and the hope of a future freed from addiction. Addressing how the Lord has grown her, Kaeli states, “I am not perfect by any means, but I now know my worth and value because of knowing Him and walking through life with Him.”
