Servant Leadership: Riley

This month His Mansion is featuring a current Servant Leader. Riley joined the Servant Leader Program last November and has blessed the women in the Resident program through her faithful service. Read how the Lord has impacted her life below.

How did you hear about His Mansion?

I heard about His Mansion through Sara, a former servant leader at His Mansion. Sara was visiting her parents’ new home in South Dakota and happened to meet my mother, whom she told all about His Mansion.

What drew you to His Mansion?

I listened to some of the testimonies online and was amazed by the work the Lord was doing at His Mansion. I was almost skeptical that Jesus alone could really transform lives so radically and I had to see it firsthand.

What has been rewarding about being a Servant Leader?

I have learned how intimately and deeply God loves His children. I have witnessed Him redeeming Residents’ painful pasts and filling every hurt and void with Himself. It took me a while to realize that God cares for me as He does the Residents. I didn’t think God cared about my own seemingly small problems, but throughout this year I have seen Him repeatedly show up for me—demonstrating His boundless and steadfast love. This knowledge is the most precious gift I could have ever received.

How has the Lord grown you through being a Servant Leader?

The Lord has taught me how to use my voice. When I arrived, I was so fearful of people and insecure in my identity that I could not speak my mind. While strengthening my trust in God, He provided me with opportunities where my voice was needed. I have learned that loving people often means sacrificing comfort and speaking hard truths.

Gifts from God’s People

As the holiday season approaches, His Mansion strives to create joyful memories for Residents and Servant Leaders. For some, the holidays do not hold fond memories and for others it can be difficult to be away from family. On Christmas, each Resident receives personalized gifts curated by staff. Would you join in this holiday tradition? The easiest way that you can help make the holidays special is by enclosing an extra gift for blessing people here on Christmas Day.

Please send in additional gifts with the enclosed response card, or scan the QR code and give online by December 16th. Please designate your extra gifts to “Christmas” or “Gifts from God’s People.”

Seth, his wife Hannah, and their daughters Ava and Addie

Staff Spotlight

This month His Mansion is featuring a new staff member, Seth Taylor. Seth joined the His Mansion community this past summer as a teacher and counselor for the Men’s Residential program.

Seth first came to His Mansion in 2011 on a workgroup. He fell in love with the ministry and wanted to be apart of it. From 2013 to 2014, Seth served as a Servant Leader, and after that year returned home to obtain his Bachelors in Pastoral Ministry. “It was difficult to leave the first time, but I felt strongly that God would bring me back at the right time,” said Seth. He and his wife Hannah met through Bible college and the martial arts studio where they both taught. Since marrying, their family has grown, welcoming two daughters Ava and Addie.

After graduating college, Seth served as a pastor for Northside Church in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. The Lord called Seth back to His Mansion in 2023 to serve on staff. He spent much of his first months at His Mansion working alongside the men on daily workcrew. He’s now settling in as a teacher and counselor. Seth is currently working toward his Master’s in Christian Studies to further his skills and experience in ministry, using those tools to better serve the men in his care.

Those at His Mansion are grateful to the Lord for bringing Seth and Hannah to serve. Their family is a great addition to the community as they share the love of the Lord with others.

Praise for the Harvest

At the end of each summer, His Mansion celebrates the bountiful harvest season. To the left is a banner noting the large quantities of food provided by the gardens. The banner is a visual representation of all God has done this year not only in the gardens but in people’s hearts and minds. The God that brings a bountiful harvest is the same God that restores broken lives through Jesus Christ.

Prayer Requests

Below are ways to be praying for His Mansion:

  • Pray for our teams this recruiting season as they visit schools and share about His Mansion with students.

  • Please pray that the Lord would bring more Residents. Currently, the women’s resident program has space available.

  • Please pray for more female Servant Leaders. Pray that the Lord would call young women to serve at His Mansion.

  • Praise God for the men that He has called to the Servant Leader Program. Two new men have arrived as Servant Leaders in the past few months.

  • Praise God for those that have recently taken the first step toward healing and have joined to the Resident program.
